GBE SERVICES on offer are comprehensive and aim to be joined up from the outset, manufacturers can be selective initially and can progress towards a more comprehensive and joined up set of parts. (Fig. 1 & 2)

Manufacturers information needs to be free to designers and specifiers to download so there is an inevitable charge to the manufacturer for these services but they are as low as we can keep them.

GBE has developed a service that is a combination of many small low cost elements whose prices are set and calculable, there is a calculator to download for you to add your shopping list to determine the total cost, add or subtract services to find a price that suits your budget. (Fig. 3)

GBE assumes the success of this services is based on the number of the documents downloaded; the specification being the most important document of all because it incorporates all of the important requirements of all the other documents and it ends up in the project contract and generates actual sales. (Fig. 5)

If you have a different criteria for judging success please let GBE know.

GBE is experimenting with providing a minimum service on credit (price determined and informed in advance) until it proves to be working (document downloads; 1 or 2 weeks is enough to know) once the services if proved then the manufacturer pays for the minimum service in full, and GBE shows the manufacturer what can be added to increase the likely document downloads which the manufacturer can choose to commission or not. (Fig. 3)

GBE is also going to experiment with half payment and remainder in installments, this will only be offered to Micro SMEs and not available to SME Small to Medium Enterprises.

The initial payment for setting up being set by GBE price and your scope, and this price is for one year.

Subsequently GBE is considering GBE will report on webstats based on document downloads alone, and invite the manufacturer to pay what they think the service is worth to them (GBE assume the more downloads the better the more its worth) if the service is not benefiting the manufacturer then the pages will be removed and no further money is exchanged.

It is in GBE’s interest to optimise the manufacturer’s pages to maximise the downloads and GBE will.
