Green Deal BioBased Building Project

Green Deal BioBased Building Project
About:

Green Deal Biobased Building will be signed during the Innovation Relay on 12 November 2013

The Green Deal Biobased Building is a contract between more than 20 Parties that are active in the Dutch construction sector and the ministries of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure and Environment and Home Affairs (housing and national service).

The purpose of this Green Deal is to improve the competitiveness of the bio-based economy by stimulating the use of bio-based materials, products and concepts in the Dutch building.

With kind regards,

Fred van der Burgh
Stichting Agrodome

This Green Deal has a lot of common outputs with the CAP’EM project.

First and important aspect is that they created a group of 22 stakeholders dealing with biobased building in The Netherlands. Thestakeholders involved are leading in the field of biobased building in the Netherlands. With this group of stakeholders we can have an important influence on the Dutch building sector.

In this Green Deal Biobased Building we have 3 subjects:

  • Building Legislation and Environmental Rules
In this part we will see if there are problems for biobased products and buildingconcepts to be part of the building sector. Like the problem in the Netherlands to enter the National Environmental Database (NMD), and to be part of calculation tools. Also we will look at the possibilities to make an affordable EPD for biobased companies. (= WP6 stuff)
We hope that the CAP’EM method wil help to make things easier for Biobased products.
In fact the Ministry of Interior (Housing is part of this Ministry) asked us to contact the NMD people to see if CAP’EM could be useful (= WP5 stuff)
  • Communication
In this part we will work on a programme to help the constructors and craftsman to get more knowledge of biobased products and building concepts, and to enlarge the use of the materials. Output will be education programmes for the building sector and for theprofessional DIY. Students but also the particioners. Expositions like ICDuBo and a new one in the East part will be part of this aspect.
We will promote the use of CAPEM Compass in this part.
  • Marketing
In this part we will find a coherent strategy to promote the use of biobased products and building concepts. So we have to find the right triggers for people to buy the products, (health, comfort, ..). (WP3 aspects)
