Discussions are underway to develop an alternative to the Environment Agency’s Sacrificial Construction approach towards a Flood tolerance, resilience, mitigation, adaptation and avoidance measures.
It is suggested that this becomes a new tertiary document below a new Approved Document under the Building Regulations and would be applied to all flood risk new build sites.
It will be interesting to see what retrofit solutions could be added and if the Building Regulations could accommodate this too.
GBE indicated an interest in promoting this scheme.
