Designers looking for technical information within their information libraries need to find information efficiently and all equivalent information together in one place.

Adding classification information to literature ensures it knows where it belongs in designer’s information systems.

Librarians will know where to put things, designers my rely on librarians but many libraries do not have a librarian in charge of them, so the literature is best labelled to enable non librarians to file new information correctly together.

GBE Classify is a service to classify literature, catalogues, samples and sample boxes on behalf of manufacturers and suppliers. (Fig. 3)

GBE Classify adopts the existing GBE Classification systems in common use throughout the industry.

GBE Classify adopt the RIBA CI/SfB agency classification box (Fig. 2) but modify the content by replacing the moribund EPIC with CAWS:

GBE Classify develop the above systems to classify new materials, products or methods entering the market

GBE Classify Service

GBE Classify considers all of the manufacturer’s or supplier’s products, accessories, systems, components and elements and lists all of the possible classification locations for their information. Fig. 3

For specific literature or samples individual combinations of classifications locations will be added to a completed example modified classification box(es). Fig. 4

Many samples classification boxes can be developed so all existing and anticipated literature or samples can have labels prepared in advance.

GBE Classify also advise on the application of the classification box on literature and samples, adopting the CI/SfB rules of application Fig. 1

GBE Classify offer to proof read any print drafts to ensure compliance.
