Non-Renewable Material/Resource
About:
NON-RENEWABLE MATERIAL/RESOURCE
Minerals, oil, gas and coal
Their use as material and energy sources leads to depletion of the Earth’s reserves as they cannot be renewed in human relevant periods of time.

NON-RENEWABLE MATERIAL/RESOURCE
A natural resource that cannot be produced, re-grown, regenerated, or reused on a scale which can sustain its consumption rate.
(GreenSpec AEP ’09)
NON-RENEWABLE MATERIAL/RESOURCE
Natural resource that exists in a fixed amount and which cannot be replenished on a human time scale.
(EESC ’11)
NON-RENEWABLE MATERIAL/RESOURCE
Material resource that is not renewed or replaced or is renewed or replaced only very slowly by natural processes.
Non-renewable material includes materials created using fossil based material including sedimentary stone, excavated minerals, plastics derived from fossil based hydro-carbons, etc.
It is non-renewable because it took millions of years to create and is not renewable in our life times.
