Checklist:
Problem:
- We generate many drawings with vast amounts of blank space and every time we revise, add information or update them we generate yet more paper copies.
- Offgassing from PVC ring binders
- Badly or unco-ordinated sets of documents
Solution:
- Provide as many documents as possible in electronic format so the recipient decides whether they read them on screen or print them
- Provide 3D Model files and let the contractor decide where to generate a section and print their own drawings
- Deliver documents via a Web server with electronic document management
- Set out document with narrow margins, to reduce the number of pages
- Print specifications double sided,
- Don’t shrink the font size, it must still be readable

- Paper or cardboard based ring binders
Avoid:
- Issuing paper prints of all documents
- Filing in PVC sheathed ring binders (risk of offgassing into filing room, library or archive)
