Why NGS’s GreenSpec sponsored the Pocket book

When Sofie first mentioned the book to BrianSpecMan it was obvious why the book was needed and why it was so important that is was done and done well.

Many student’s second most favourite question is ‘Where do I find the information?’ my new favourite answer is ‘Sofie’s book’ what a relief.

No longer do I need to remember all the book titles and website URLs. All in one place.

This book is so important that is has the potential to change the face of current practice, making life easier to get started and easier to dig a bit deeper.

It can engage many more who see Environmental Design as too complicated and difficult to find the right information.

BrianSpecMan invested as much time as the looming publishing deadline permitted, to review and contribute to 5 of the chapters and focus on chapter 7 materials in particular.

Sofie’s approach is so appropriate for Architects and Students alike, they learn through pictures, drawings, tables, graphs; this book is full of them along with a load of supporting text which is very accessible and the drawings are delightful.

This is everything I would have done on NGS’s GreenSpec if we had the money and time to develop more content, I now have to be careful find a way to say what I want to say and not repeat Sofie in GBE Green Building Encyclopaedia.
