ABBREVIATIONS
- Reduction of a multi-worded title to the initials of each word only, used to save time in conversation and space in written text,
- They are useful in company that knows the meaning of the abbreviations, but create barriers to communication if the audience are not familiar with it.
- The first time they are used in written text they should follow the full text and be enclosed in brackets; the second time they are use they can be used on their own and not in brackets.
- IT managers are renowned for playing ping pong with abbreviations to challenge and repel borders, part of the ritual of proving dominance over their peers
