NGS CHECKLISTRefurbishment Decent Homes

This was prepared as a reaction to the resource inefficiency of the Decent Homes Programme and the missed opportunity to carryout 1 million sustainable refurbishments.

Instead many of the actions in the Decent homes Programme will be undone and redone in the Green Deal.

The most important issue is to start with a thorough understanding of the building to be refurbished, develop a whole house plan to understand the final ambtion so that no work is done that will need to be undone and redone later.

Much of this applies to any refurbishment of houses and the refurbishment of other building types.

  • Bathrooms
  • Windows
