Voltage Optimisation (VO) Jargon Buster
Voltage Optimisation (VO) Jargon Buster
About:
VOLTAGE OPTIMISATION (VO)
- A piece of kit that is set in line on power cables entering a building, it takes the spikes and troughs out of the voltage fluctuations in grid supply by turning the appliance intake to off when the fluctuation in voltage exceed set requirements, so it does not take more than it needs and when the fluctuations come back to within set requirements turns it back on again.
- Works particularly well on Fridges, Freezers and Air Conditioning, but most other equipment should has a voltage intake regulator built in.
- Since Fridges, Freezers are on permanently and Air Conditioning is a high energy consumer VO is beneficial.
- Many appliances have their own VO built in, older kit may benefit from having VO added to the intake or to the appliance itself.
- VO can also be added at the 13 amp socket.
