Green Reclaim & Reuse Calculator (GRRC)
Ambitions:
- To build a Design & Decision Tool focussed on new build with Reclaim and Reuse quantifying reduced Embodied carbon over new build with new materials
- Calculate actual reclaim and reuse by % volume, weight, value and carbon
- Be able to benchmark potential reclaim and reuse percentages, for promotion to users.
- Include subdivision targets by: structure, fabric, services, finishes, furniture, services, landscape
- Build a template building for Pre-demolition Audits with emphasis on Reclamation (started with Salvo PDA (GPDAC)
- Build a Template Building made from reclaimed materials (started in GBC Building, GRC Retrofit, GIC Interiors, GMEPC Services & GLC Landscape)
- Template Building made of elements (roof walls floors etc.) made of component parts (structure, proofing, decoration, etc.) (started in GBC)
- Adopt Truly Reclaimed criteria
- Adopt Salvo Carbon calculations or datasets for reclaimed materials differences from new build materials
- Develop and include Green Reclaim and Reuse Materials Data Collection (GRRMDC)
- Develop and include Green Reclaim and Reuse Price Book (GRRPB)
- Develop and include Green Reclaim and Reuse Readymade Elemental Assemblies (GRRREA)
- Consider Paola Sassi Reclaim ability, Reuse ability & Value criteria
- Consider BAMB project Product Passports (GBPP GBMP)
- Consider BAMB project spin out tools
- Link to authoritative guidance on Salvo, project and Green Building Encyclopaedia (GBE) websites
- Develop case studies in the calculators
- Develop story telling case studies to explain the problems and solutions
- Publish and cross link between Salvo, Reclaimers & Reusers Practitioners, GBE, GBC websites
- Promote via social media to bring in consumers to interrogate and potentially use the information
