Sessions, Chair and Speakers

John Doggett OBE

Eur Eng MA (Eng) MA (Arch) CEng MinstE FRSA

9.50am: Chairing the morning session

Patron SEA Sustainable Energy Academy.

John is also co-founder of EHA the Existing Homes Alliance, chairs the EHA Finance Working Group, and is an advisor to the Government. John is a trustee of the National Energy Foundation. Brian Murphy
ONC HNC Construction, BSc Dip Arch (Hons + Dist)

11.00am: The whats and wherefores of insulation

Web Site: Green Building    @BrianSpecMan

Brian was educated at London Metropolitan University and currently works at NGS National Green Specification on the project Green Building Encyclopaedia (GBE). Previous work includes GreenSpec website.

He is currently developing GBE content, 1900 pages so far out of 30,000 planned, the website mimics human brain neural network principles: every page lists and links to and from every other related and relevant page, so the user does not have to search for anything, it all comes to them.  Latest GBE ambition is to create Healthy Building Specification with Building Biology Association.

Sally Godber

1.50pm: Smart ways to design and control your heating and cooling

Web Sites: Swegon Academy   WARM    @SallyGodber

Sally was educated at the University of Southampton and currently works for the WARM: Low Energy Buildings Practice.

She is a Mechanical Engineer and a Certified Passivhaus Consultant.

Sally’s early career as a building services engineer focused on renewable and low energy systems for a diverse range of sectors including historic, industrial and educational buildings. Life as a services engineer was too easy-going so she set up WARM with her father Peter in 2009.  WARM is an energy consultancy providing Passivhaus design advice and certification but also dabbles in building services, training, monitoring and anything else that improves the built environment and looks interesting.  Sally particularly enjoys creating buildings with good internal comfort, preferably without extra cost.

Borisa Ristic & Co and TYPE Studio

Coming from an architectural background gives Ognjen the ability to more closely understand the architect’s ambitions of a project when faced with the complexities of construction, in particular when implementing airtight and highly insulated building designs. He recently spoke at the AECB conference on the successes and failures within airtight construction.

Borisa Ristic & Co completed the first Superhome over 10 years ago and now regularly collaborate with Passive House Designers and Consultants on construction projects in London and southern England. Our recent successes include a retrofit in south London achieving 0.65 air changes per hour and a rear extension in north London being shortlisted in the Interiors category for the Wood Awards.
