Circulation Economy
- Circular Economy is in its infancy in Europe
- Today in NW-Europe, only 1% of building elements are reused following their first application.
Project Objectives:
- Increase Reclaim and Reuse of Building Elements in new build
Project Inputs:
- University of Brighton’s Waste House
Project Outcomes:
Project Guide/Manual
- A guide for facilitating the integration of reclaimed building materials in large-scale projects and public tenders
Project Database
- Project Partners are working together to create:
- A directory of 1,500 suppliers working in the building de-construction and re-use industries.
Project Toolkit
- A ‘toolkit’ for clients helping them understand the viability of different building materials and components to be reused in new developments.
Project Legacy
- The School of Architecture & Design will host ‘Zchool of Re-Conztruction’ in August 2020 testing these ideas with Brighton & Hove City Council.
